Why did la llorona kill her children?
La Llorona, a folk tale from long ago, has many versions. In one, La Llorona is portrayed as a widow woman with children who wanted to marry a rich nobleman who didn’t want to raise another mans’ children. In her determination to marry this man, widow La Llorona drowned her children. But, alas, it was not to happen. When the widow told the nobleman what she had done to gain his love, he told her he could not marry such a woman. She drowned herself and her spirit was damned to remain around the waterways forever.
