Why did King James II (catholic king of England) loose right to be king?

in simple language james the ll was a rebel.he went against the british constitution too many times.eg.he allowed everyone to practice religion worship freely without fear of punishment.he did this on his own authority and even back in those days, parliament had to approve and pass law. he ignored parliament on many occasions.he was totally against the university’s of england like oxford and cambridge as they continued to ignore the king’s authority, and teach within parliamentary boundaries..there are many more incidents that added up,eventually he found himself giving orders without protection of his army.so in the middle of the night he escaped, almost got away, when returned england thought he was unfit and stripped him of the crown.there are many books on the subject, with the conflicts.he was quite a character.
