Why did Juno hate the Trojans?
Juno bore the Trojans many hostilities from before the big Trojan War, both of which real and imagined. The facts were these: Juno, Venus and Minerva asked Paris, a Trojan, to judge who was the fairest of them . Juno promised Paris riches if he chose her, while Venus promised him Helen. So, Paris took the high road, choosing Venus as fairest, who also happened to be Juno’s rival (kudos to Paris for making that call) and then kidnapped Helen to marry her. This began the Trojan War. So, Juno decided to go against Troy and in favor of the Greeks. Furthermore, the hatred for the Trojans was also attributed to the fact that the Roman prophecy stated that Carthage, Juno’s favorite city, was destined to be destroyed by the race descended from the Trojans.
