Why did JHU initiate the Emergency Management Leadership Program?

0

As one of the world’s leading universities and the largest research university in the United States, JHU works extensively with the Department of Defense, various branches of the military, Secret Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, Major Cities Chiefs Association, and other organizations to secure the nation and its people and communities against harm. Various schools and units of the University have been involved in emergency management, public health, and public safety for decades. Senior government officials, private contractors, and alumni challenged JHU to support those serving the expanding field of emergency management. JHU’s commitment to and success in working with public health organizations, the military, and federal, state, and local public safety agencies and extensive efforts in support of homeland security made the Emergency Management Leadership Program a logical expansion of the University’s efforts.
