Why did Jesus warn of false prophets instead of saying there will be no more prophets after me?
Christians would naturally deny there would be a prophet after Jesus – very insecure, you see.. But Jesus knew there would have been many enlightened men before him and many to come. But just beware of false ones who just want to cash in on the position that clever, kind and admired prophets have. Jesus may have said the words as quoted, but only Christians created Christianity, decades after his ‘death’, therefore having the opportunity to add a few extras, e.g., that there would be ‘no more’ prophets.
