Why did Jesus sweat great drops of blood when He was praying in the garden of Gethsemane?
Jimmy, It’s my belief that Jesus being 100% human but at the same time 100% God knowing what was coming was experiencing great turmoil knowing that His time had come. He was facing His arrest in the garden shortly and knew that His disciples would flee from Him. He knew all the events that He would soon be facing. The mocking, spatting upon, ripping out pieces of His beard, the crown of thorns piercing His head, the horrible scourging using a cat-of-nine tails with bone fragments and metal balls being tied to the ends of the straps causing pieces of His flesh to be torn from His body and the balls causing deep contusions to say nothing of the actual crucifixion.
