Why did Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze hate each other?
The problem wasn’t in Dirty Dancing. They worked together before that movie in a film called “Red Dawn” with Lea Thompson, Charlie Sheen and Powers Boothe. It seems they had a big discussion (for a little thing) during this production and they didn’t talk to each other. When she heard that Patrick was going to be her on-screen lover, Jennifer got upset, but they had a long heart-to-heart conversation and they forgot their differences. And after this talk, they became good friends. A proof of their good relationship is this: The “Love is Strange” sexy dancing was unexpected. The crew left the actors alone and put that song. Jennifer and Patrick started to dance and the result was this sexy dancing. Kenny Ortega saw what the actors were doing and told Mrs. Bergstein and Mr. Ardolino to watch them without the couple knowing. They liked it so much that Mrs. Bergstein re-wrote the scene in order to attach that dancing. I hope it helps.
