Why did JAX select the Naples area?
For several years, Economic Development Council (EDC) of Collier County has spearheaded a community discussion called Project Innovation, the goal of which is to diversify the county’s economy beyond tourism, construction and real estate. This discussion determined that The Jackson Laboratory’s potential to provide high-wage jobs and to attract other biomedical and biotech employers make JAX the ideal centerpiece of a new economic direction for Collier County. Officials at The Jackson Laboratory were convinced that Naples and Collier County leaders would succeed in their drive to create a research and education center, and JAX looks forward to being part of that success.
