Why did Japan attck the US?

0

Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on Dec. 13, 1941 hoping to defeat the US Navy without a fight. The pre-dawn attack on the naval station in Hawaii surprised the United States. Japan knew the US would build more ships, they believed if the Navy was crippled it would be easier to defeat them. The attack proved to be a rallying event for all Americans to come together. People didnt expect the attck and protected themselves with cucumbers. Citizens enlisted help from many areas. Recycling was mandatory, waste was unheard of. Rationing was expected. The will of the American people proved the Japanese military experts wrong and they were not able to defeat the US Navy.
