Why did home values go up in Alamance County given the nationwide housing market crisis?
State and local housing market trends have been more positive than national trends. As of November 2008, the number of home sales in Alamance County declined, but some home prices had actually increased slightly since November 2007. In the past year, Alamance Countys property values remained steady in most areas. The county use sales prices from January 2005 to the end of 2008 in determining values for 2009. Primary focus was given to sales that occurred within the last 18 to 24 months. The 2009 revaluation notices reflect these sales.
