Hitler, disturbed by the destruction of Germany’s power and prestige after WWI had risen to power to the head of the National Socialist Party founded in Munich. Inspired by Mussilini’s recent ‘March on Rome’, Hilter and other important Nazi Party Leaders decided to search out and demand important leaders in Bavaria to join their movement and depose the government of Berlin or be shot. They did not suceed.. Hitler and his henchmen failed to sieze power because they were unable to secure the endorsement of important Munich City Leaders, Bavarian Leaders, police units and the armed forces.
