Why did hannibal hate the romans?
As a kid he was forced to swear hate to the Romans. Since his father’s death, during a fight, in 228 B.C. until his death in 183 B.C. he dedicated his life to fighting against the Romans. He first occupied Spain to remove a powerful ally of Rome, so that he could then rise against it. He was so feared by the Romans that they even had a quote to scare children with: “Hannibal ante portas!”, which meant “Hannibal is in front of the gates”… He died by killing himself after realizing that he was to be captured by the Romans. For that he used poison… he also said, just before killing himself, “Let’s finally rid the Romans of the terror that has them, by making them not have to wait for the death of an old man any longer…
