The decision to sell to BCBSFL was based on their experience, stability, demonstrated commitment to health care needs of the local community, and the resources they can bring to expand access to Florida Health Care Plan’s affordable, high quality care. Also, BCBSFL is committed to continue present FHCP operations and organization, which will ensure continuity of care for the community, and means there will be no job loss or changes in staffing, facilities or benefits as a result of the sale. FHCP will now offer the best features of a large statewide and national health plan, combined with the responsiveness and local decision making of our community health plan.
