The OT sacrifices were required to make atonement for sins. Men were being obedient to God in obeying His commands, remaining in relationship with Him. God accepted blood offerings as atonement. These OT sacrifices were only temporary as they never took away sins forever, which is why they had to keep doing so many.

God was preparing the Jews for the big future sacrifice of Jesus Christ, that they may understand the concept of blood sacrifices to God as atonement for sins. Jesus Christ was the final lamb sacrifice, spotless and perfect to pay the debt for the sins of those who would believe in Him.

All we have to do is call out to God for forgiveness and have faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross, that He paid the price. It is through this faith and humble asking for forgiveness that we become born again, forgiven by God and we now can have a relationship with Him. Amen!!

God Bless 🙂
