Why did Frederick the Great say young men will fight women will make tents and uniforms?
Frederick the Great’s statement “Young men will go forth to battle; married men will forge weapons and transport munitions; women will make tents and clothing and serve in hospitals” transformed the civilian population of France into a resource (for war, production, motivation) to be tapped into at will by the military high command.
