Why did France Telecom choose Cisco routers?
A. France Telecom chose the Cisco 12416 for two primary reasons. First, the 12416 provides the highest performance and capacity, best investment protection, and most cost-effective deployment of 10G bps networking. France Telecom can reuse all existing Cisco 12000 Internet Router interface cards in any existing or new router, which means its existing investment is preserved. In addition, through features such as VSR (Very Short Reach Optics), Cisco can provide the most cost-effective 10G bps deployments in the industry. Second, the Cisco 12416 Internet Router provides the best capabilities for delivering quality of service.
