Why did Einstein quoted ” religion without science is blind and science without religions is lame “?

A religion that denies the efficacy of science is doomed to paint itself into a corner. Science is all about the world around us – a religion without it must therefore be closed to that world. It is blind. On the other hand, science needs a purpose. It can look around, fashion tools and theories… but it can never tell you why it should do such things instead of nothing. There is no scientific way to probe these things. If you have no place to go and no reason to be there when you are arrive, you are pretty much helpless (consult your local nihilist). Lame.

He meant that religion without science is stagnant and un-evolving and science without religion is heartless and inhumane.
