Why did Edward leave Bella in New Moon?
He left because he was trying to do the right thing, trying to protect Bella from the soulless monster he believes he is. But he underestimated Bella’s love for him, seeing as he couldn’t fathom that she should love him very much. No other human relationships he’s seen had led him to believe that Bella could feel very stongly, just things like high school infatutaion that meant nothing.
