• Answer: Epithelial ingrowth has been decreased with the use of the DaVinci Femtosecond laser and Thin Flap SBK in LASIK cases involving cutting or cap or flap as compared to using a microkeratome. This epithelial ingrowth occurred in 53% of the patients above 50 years of age. The epithelial ingrowth was statistically greater in retreated patients and was necessary 20% of the time.
