Why did clove my cigarettes become illegal while marijuana is becoming legal in some states?
Cigarettes kill 400,000 people a year in the US! The govt. is working to decrease the use of tobacco in the US, slowly, over a number of years. A big part of this has been to prevent tobacco companies from advertising to children and teenagers, because most real tobacco addicts get hooked in their teen years. Part of this is ‘flavored’ cigarettes. Studies have shown that flavored cigarettes make it easier for kids to get hooked. Banning them is for the same reason as banning Joe Camel. Marijuana is different. Nobody can really explain why it’s even illegal. It doesn’t kill thousands of people. It has a long history of being used as a medicine and all the evidence shows that it really works well for some things. States are voting to allow it to be used as a medicine, NOT to legalize it completely. Personally I believe that both tobacco and marijuana should be legal, but people should be informed of the risks, and only adults should be able to make the decision to use either one. As far
