The split between tennis star Chris Evert and golfing great Greg Norman, whose 15-month marriage ended in divorce last month, was a result of stress and strain over her teenage boys needing their mother, according to someone who observed the situation. “There was a lot of tension between Chris and Greg because she spent so much time traveling with him during the marriage that she was not home enough with her three teenage sons,” a source close to Evert tells PEOPLE. “She regrets that and has changed her pattern. She is enjoying spending more time with her boys. She loves being a mother.” Evert, 55, spent Christmas in Florida with Alex 18, Nicky, 15, and Colton 13, then over the long New Year’s weekend flew to Hawaii with Colton, a friend of his and one of her girlfriends.
