Why did Capstan choose the Application Service Provider model?
The Application Service Provider model allows Capstan to address a specific business problem which can only be solved in a Web-native environment. The significant quantity of participants in the Global Supply Chain from major corporations is also accommodated by the ASP model; while each company has a unique blend of participants, significant overlap exists between companies. This is one of the primary drivers of the total adoption of the ASP model by Capstan. Coined the “network effect”, it is the leverage gained by the ability to replace redundant processes with a single process meeting the needs of a significant quantity of customers.
