Why did Britain got to keep the pound as currency?
The UK decided to keep its own currency because it was Britian’s choice to make. The reason it decided to retain the pound was plainly and simply it was/is too Britain’s economic advantage, The UK does more trade outside the EU then any other nation in Europe, it trades with Argentina as much as Holland, South Africa as much as France…. As a result the British pound has remained a strong global currency and looks to remain so for the foreseeable future bespite current global fluctuations. The value of the Euro is also reliant the Economies not only of Germany, France and the likes of Holland (very stable) but also the Economies of country’s like Greece, Italy ,Portugal and Spain all of these country’s failed the EU’s own economic standard requirements but were still allowed to joint the single currency regardless.
