Why did Branch Davidian fly the Jewish star over Mount Carmel during the Waco Siege?

I see this has remained unanswered so I have a theory that just might be true. This is not based in any fact, I just think it may be the reason. David Koresh believed himself to be the Messiah who, according to the bible, would be in the line of David. He also believed that he was a modern-day King Cyrus of Persia who “delivered” the Jews out of captivity in Babylon. Koresh is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for Cyrus the Great of Persia. The symbol of the Jewish nation is the Star of David. Since he believed himself to be descended from the line of David (the line that Messiah will come from) he adopted it as his symbol. According to wikki, the earliest use of the Star of David is in the 12th century C.E. King David, however, never used it. It is a much later construct.
