Why did Adam and Eve eat the apples God said not to eat?
The King James Version states that Eve tasted of the forbidden fruit when she saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise. The Bible never states that the forbidden fruit was an apple. In Genesis 2:16, 17 God never told Adam (for he spoke to or commanded the man) that he could not touch the fruit. He only told him that he could not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They had permission to eat of all the other trees in the garden.
