Manufactures tend not to advertise absolute top speed because they limit it electronically anyway. If BMW says the M5 can do 0-60 in 4 seconds and Mercedes-Benz says the E63 can do 200 mph but 0-60 time is 5 seconds. 0-60 time is something everyone can legally experience. Absolute top speed is something only a few corporate test drivers and engineers will ever experience.
