Why develop commercial software for linux?
As enthusiastic users of linux we began developing our software because we needed some audio processing applications and plugins that offered some of the features that had become standard on other operating systems and we also believe that the configurable nature of linux in general offers a superior platform for PC audio. We decided to make the software more widely available in the hope that other users would find it useful and that it might help to drive greater adoption of linux as a platform for serious audio production. The significant costs of maintaining the infrastructure necessary to develop and distribute the software dictated that it had to exist as a commercial venture, although, where possible, we do support other projects as mentioned previously.
