Why Define Areas by Enumeration Districts?

0

Enumeration Districts are becoming the standard unit for boundary definition within the NHS and Local Authorities. Defining areas by Postcode was considered but found to be unworkable because they represent a very small area which becomes unmaneagable to map. The use of Enumeration District as the ‘building block’ for patient/geographic data will enable relatively easy interchange of information with other bodies such as the Census Office and Local Authorities.
