Why Deadliest Catch?
“While we wished to respect the efforts of the stalwart fishermen who make their fortune on the unpredictable waters of the Bering Sea, we also thought it might be humorous if the same dramatic tone was applied to a situation that was undeserving of it. Additionally, the boyfriend of Aaron’s stepsister had just purchased a rather large and ramshackle shrimping boat off the coast of Edisto Island, S.C. Considering that shrimping isn’t exactly a showstopper in terms of the raw excitement, we thought it would make an ideal choice for parody.” Biggest Challenge? Aaron W: “Finding the shooting location. Neither of us had ever been in South Carolina for any extended period of time and in the week prior to shooting we were unable to get a hold of Colin Hewitt, the man who owned the the boat we were supposed to be shooting on. We wound up driving blindly up the coast, following signs to Edisto Island, S.C. Luckily, Edisto Island is a very small island and we eventually drove by a seafood shop
