Julie Henricks, a friend of the Cook family, said Adam Cook died at his Terre Haute home, where hospice nurses were helping Cook’s wife, Kendra, care for him. David Cook’s older brother, Adam, die over the weekend from brain cancer at the age of 37. American Idol winner David was apparently at his bedside, along with the rest of the family, when he died. A choked-up David announced the news after traveling to Washington, D.C. for the Race for Hope 5K cancer fundraiser. According to the Washington Post, he ran the race, finishing the 3.1 miles in 28 minutes, and saying to the crowd afterwards, “I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now. I’ve lost one but I’ve gained 9,000. I will be here every year that they will have me.” We all remember Adam, of course, cheering David on to his win last year. He’s survived by his wife and a 7-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter. According to the AP, a friend of the family, Julie Henricks said Adam died at his Terre Haute, Indiana home, where his wife and hospice nurses were caring for him.
