Why Dark Poetry?
Daniel G. Snethen Owner of Darkling Publications Publisher/Editor of Darkling Magazine Darkling Publications is a company dedicated to the proliferation of dark literature of a high quality. By dark literature, I do not necessarily mean gothic or horror. There are several venues available for these types of literature, many of which are not what I would call particularly literary. Of course there are many examples of great gothic and horror being written today which is of high literary merit and Darkling Publications is quite interested in these writings. There are however few if any other venues for the type of dark literature we publish and we feel we are the major publishing outlet for poets who write such fare. Currently, Darkling Publications publishes one annual poetry journal appropriately named DARKLING. DARKLING is the cornerstone of Darkling Publications. We have published two editions: the MMVI and the MMVII editions. The major focus of DARKLING is that of dark poetry. DARKL
