Why crush 1100 perfectly good electric cars???
Beaugrand, I don’t think things are the same in the UK but I will look into it. When you buy a car brand new the warranty is pretty important. Venusuranus, superconductors have nothing to do with solar panels. They allow the transfer of electricity over unlimited distance with zero energy loss, but the disadvantages are that you need to cool them to near absolute zero and they are ceramic like hence very brittle. If they could be made to work at room temperature then countries would save an enormous amount of energy through transmission loss. Work is in progress but it’s still a long way away. Last I know in the UK BP have bought out many (most?) of the solar companies and their patents. They have also done a number of pioneering projects, so credit where credit is due. At the moment solar seems to be split between processes that are expensive to manufacturer and have some toxic byproducts but are really efficient, and cheap and easy solar panels that are not particularly efficient.
