Why cocoa beans from Ecuador?
All verē chocolate is made with Single Origin Arriba Cacao beans that grow only in Ecuador. Because the Arriba bean requires less time than other beans for proper fermenting (the first step in “making” chocolate and also the first place the antioxidants begin to break down), we start out with higher level of antioxidants. Additionally, the tropical fruity flavor of Arriba cacao requires less sweetening, and the beans reflect the taste of the land, distinctly rich and earthy, providing us with a bouquet of flavors for our chocolates, putting us on par with some of the world’s best chocolatiers. After all this is the land where wild cacao is thought to have originated. Is verē chocolate organic? All of our chocolate is either Certified Organic by the USDA and ECOCERT or certified by the Rainforest Alliance to be sustainably grown with fair prices for the farmers.
