Why choose Pentax than Nikon and Canon?
I’m a Canon shooter but, I just happily recommended the Pentax K-x to a co-worker because given her budget and long term plans in photography, there was little value in spending the extra $25-$75 it might have cost he to go with a Nikon D3000 or Canon 1000D (called the Rebel XS here in the US). If you like the K-x, I say go for it because that camera bests the base models of both Canon and Nikon. As you move up in the Canon and Nikon product lines, that isn’t always the case but those cameras quickly get more expensive than Pentax. Having said all this, there is one minor downside to Pentax. They currently offer only about half as many lenses as Canon or Nikon. Your choices in lenses from Pentax are limited to focal lengths under 300mm at this time. Sigma however, does make a Pentax compatible version of their longer lenses. If you get heavily interested in architectural photography, Pentax does not offer tilt-shift/perspective control lenses like those found in the Canon and Nikon lin
