Why choose a destination wedding over a traditional ceremony at home?
According to a recent study by The Conde Naste Bridal Group, approximately 16% of all first marriages take place at a far flung destination. When you include second marriages in the mix, this figure jumps to 60%. Destination Weddings have caught on for several reasons: Couples are marrying older and do not want the fuss of a traditional wedding and all that goes with it. Couples are often on their second marriage looking for something unique, intimate, and special. Couples and their guests often bring children. Many of the resorts offer children’s programs allowing adult privacy for the couple and their guests as well as an enjoyable vacation with their new family. The cost of a traditional big city wedding can cost upwards of $40,000, while a ceremony in Mexico, including the week long honeymoon is more likely to cost as little as $5,000 to $8,000. Destination weddings can also lead to destination anniversaries in the same memorable location!!
