Why change from the current parliamentary executive structure?
SPRUCE believes that the effectiveness of ASMSU would be improved by electing one officer directly accountable to the undergraduate students of MSU. The campus-wide election to fill this office would increase the visibility of ASMSU and encourage more students to vote in the annual elections. Campaigning directly to undergraduate student voters would enable interaction between students and the President of their choice, and would ensure that the issues important to a majority of the undergraduates themselves would be reflected in their choice for ASMSU President.
