Why carry water for Durbin and George Ryan?
(0+ / 0-) Just because George Ryan was a more effective Democratic governor than actual Gov. Rod Blagojevich does not make his corruption OK and just because he has served one year in prison does not mean he has served all his time. George Ryan STOLE FROM THE TAXPAYERS. He stole from ME as an Illinois taxpayer. He cynically exploited the death penalty issue to gin up sympathy in such a circumstance as this. (No I don’t think he feared he’d get the death penalty. It really was just about PR to rehab his image and leave some other legacy than licenses for bribes) If you want to look the other way when Dick Durbin is abetting corrupt Illinois politics just to spite the Dan Profts of the world, that’s your right. But I refuse to join you in this when I know there will be a day, some day, when the Illinois Republicans get their acts together and Democrats looking the other way when it comes to corruption will bite us in the ass just like it did the GOP.
