Why Carnegie Mellon?
Not all arts management programs are the same. In fact, you are likely to find that each school has a unique focus and a different approach to the discipline. If you compare programs – which we encourage you to do – you will find that the core curricula are very similar. In order to find the program that best meets your needs and matches your interests, you should delve deeper into the specifics of each degree. Review the requirements. Spend time reading course descriptions for both core and elective courses. Get a feel for each school. Ask questions of the admissions office. Meet and discuss your interests with faculty. Inquire about opportunities to work directly with arts organizations. These activities should help you discover which program is best for you. There are a few features of our program that may make us different than others. For one, we have a skills-based curriculum. We recognize that in this day and age, multiple job changes – and even career changes – are inevitable.
