The following message arrived recently in the inbox of Angela Broeckel, TASIS’ Community Service Coordinator. It comes from Frank Klein, former TASIS Director of Development and Alumni Relations (now Director of the non-profit humanitarian agency Assisting Children in Need). TASIS’s Assisting Children with AIDS (ACA) club hosts its annual ACA week from December 1-5. The club invites anyone who is interested to join in their campaign to raise 2500 CHF in a week to help children and teens in Romania suffering from HIV. The planned events: • Monday: World AIDS Day. At 19:00 ACA members will present “A Response from Around the World.” • Tuesday: No Dress Code tickets go on sale in all dorms and at lunches through Thursday. ACA presentation and preview at assembly, followed by the 16:30 visit by a special guest from a local hospital will talk about the work he is doing in the call to HIV awareness. • Wednesday: Special Advisory Dinner: a talk about AIDS and awareness.
