Why “Car2CanTM” and why a video contest?
It seems simple enough to take trash out of your car and place it in the trashcan, and yet each year, 827 million pieces of trash end up littering our state’s roads. To reinforce the fact that litter belongs in the can, not on our roadways, the video contest is an opportunity to show all Texans that it really is easy to keep our state clean. The online video contest format is also popular among Gen-L (Generation Litterer), Texans aged 16-24, who have been identified by research as the state’s worst litterers.
