Why can’t you be like the Alamo Drafthouse and offer a more valuable theatre experience instead of relying on the old and dying conventions?
The Drafhouse is independently owned. What that means in the corporate world is up for debate, but I have worked for an independent before. And they do things that normal corporations don’t do which is focus on customer satisfaction rather than bottom line. Not a lot of corporately owned theatres do that. Yes, their bottom line is important for both small and big businesses, but it doesn’t appear as important as pleasing the customers with smaller organizations. Corporations try to emphasize customer satisfaction in the training manuals until we are blue in the fact, but do they really mean it? No, of course not. That’s why the bulk of my co-workers are all robots. Not in the literal sense, but as far as personality goes. Simply put, they don’t care about customer satisfaction because the higher ups don’t care about customer satisfaction.
