Why cant we use the same grade of oil for lubricating applications and hydraulic applications?
lubricating oil can be, used as a medium for hydraulic applications but it has its limitations, as viscosity of lubricant is higher which asks for a pump with more power, another factor is the working pressure of the system should be less compared to a hydraulic oil system, which means limited use, the heat resistance is also a factor, foaming of some oils is also the reason,and lubricant oil has some additives which may damage the seals and other rubber fittings of the system,
