Unforeseen hazards such as undertows, riptides, stingrays and jellyfish make swimming and wading potentially dangerous. Slippery rocks make tidepools off limits. We require shoes at the beach due to hazardous objects such as glass, pulltabs, sharp rocks and beach tar.
