Why can we just print lots of money for poor countries and give it to them?
Let’s say we gave $10,000 to each adult in some poor country. Immediately each person will have a lot of money so they can buy stuff they need. However, everyone now has more money and everyone wants to by stuff, may be a well in the yard with a battery operated pump so they can have clean water, or anything else. However there are only so many electric pumps and so many well diggers. So as pumps start ‘flying off the shelves’, the price of the pumps will increase. SImilarly the business of well-diggers booms. They have only so many hours they can work but so many people want wells. So they increase the price they charge. Prices for all sorts of prodcts will increase in a similar manner. The only way for prices to stop rising is when situation is nearly back to original, as the prices go up so much that the $10,000 cannot buy much, and the people are back to square one, poor in terms of what they can buy.
