Why can the Chinese join the rest of modern civilization and update their calendar?
The CHinese civilization was among the very first civilizations to come into existence. They have had written records on par with Ancient Greece and even earlier, while Europe had no written record and before the birth of your christ. Chinese New Year is an important part of their tradition and culture. ANd the Chinese form one of the largest population groups on this planet, so by majority democratic consensus and the principle of sovereignty, Chinese New Year is going to be around for a long time, at least in Chinese states and among the Chinese people. The Chinese calendar is not outdated, its merely different/old. China is a modern civilization. You should be focusing on how modern the Middle Eastern states are and how modern their people are with their own religious and cultural practices involving gender and explosives.
