Why can’t the Bond Construction Funds passed in 2003 be used for school operating costs?
In 2003, district residents approved two construction bond funds to be used for specific improvements to school facilities. By law, the money voters approved for the bonds must be spent on the specific building improvements listed in the bond proposals. Those funds cannot be used to pay salaries, buy curriculum materials, or offset any other school operating costs.
