Many, many citizens have been students or worked at MATC and still have their OneCards. Only currently enrolled students…who pay for the program…should be riding the buses. Madison Metro charges by-the-ride. As such, the Student Senate wants to be sure that we’re only paying for rides by students who are eligible to be riding. The current reader system utilized by Madison Metro is not capable of reading MATC OneCard IDs. Future technologies may be compatible and this is being worked-on.
