Why can’t Residents of Historic Homes request service calls online?
Balfour Beatty Communities offers a method of submitting online requests for maintenance service to homes, but the system is only be operable for Residents of non-historic homes at West Point. The reason that Residents of historic homes will not have the online reporting option is because we use two separate maintenance data management systems at West Point. We track the maintenance for historic homes in a system custom built for West Point, known as the Integrated Resource Management System (IRMS,) which not only tracks ordinary service request information, it also tracks data necessary to comply with the New York State Housing Preservation Office’s guidelines. The other system we use is Yardi, our primary operating system. On the leasing side of our operation, Yardi tracks all Residents from the day they apply until the time they move-out, regardless of the historic or non-historic designation of their home. Yardi also has a maintenance tracking function which we use to track service
