Why can NBA players wear t- shirts under their jerseys?
The NBA has very specific rules regulating uniforms. They are designed to keep players from wearing outlandish outfits and distracting fans from the game. Also, they want to promote their professionalism and they are in uniform like many jobs have. Other interesting rules: All players have to match when taking the court for warmups (Then they can take their sweats off) Players cannot untuck their jerseys until they get back to the locker room after the game. (Often violated rule) Last season players couldn’t wear towels on their head when they were sitting on the bench.
