Why can my friends download my music files?
Well, there could be numerous reasons for this problem. In this age, there are a plethora of different music file types you could be saving your music under. Some such as MPEG-4, WMV, Quicktime, of AIFF. All of these files only work on certain operating systems, or players. In other words, a .WMV file, which stands for Windows Media Video file won’t play on a Macintosh. So in most cases, you have to convert them to an mp3. Generally these files play on everything.
The easiest way I have found to do that, is to convert the files in itunes, or whatever media player you may be using. Simply click on the file, and then on the toolbar up top there should be a way to convert any file into an mp3 format. The way to do it is different depending on what type of computer, media player, or operating system you use.
If that isn’t the problem, it could also be maybe your files are protected. When some of my frineds try to download files I have purchased on itunes, they need my account password to access it. Most likely though, it’s just a different file type. I hope this helps.
